Wir vom baskets|blog haben schon jetzt ein kleines Interview mit dem zukünftigen Starting-Pointguard der Baskets für euch am Start. Zuerst die englische Variante und anschließend die deutsche Übersetzung. Viel Spaß!
baskets|blog: What do you already know about Germany?
Jared Jordan: I don’t know much about Germany to be honest with you. A family friend of ours goes there alot and says its a great place, the people are very nice and it’s a very cool place to be. He said Bonn is a great city, not too big and not too small, and we will enjoy our time there.
baskets|blog: hat is the coolest thing you heard about Germany so far?
Jared Jordan: Everytime I tell someone I am going to Germany the first thing they say is Octoberfest. So I am going to say Octoberfest is the coolest thing I know about Germany.
baskets|blog: What do you expect from your second time in Europe?
Jared Jordan: I am really excited to be back in Europe and know that this is a great situation for me. Playing in Lithuania was a great experience for me because I learned from a lot of the older veteran guys on my team. The european game is very different from what I was used to but now having that one year under me I feel a lot more confident.
baskets|blog: What do you know about your new team and current or former players on the team?
Jared Jordan: I have heard that coach is a players coach and really puts alot of confidence into his players. I know that Bonn had been to the finals last two seasons and I am hoping I can help us win the championship. I dont know any of the players personally but know some of their games.
baskets|blog: What are you looking forward to the most?
Jared Jordan: I am really looking forward to get onto the court and winning games. All I want to do is win and have a good time doing it. I am really excited about this season because I feel it’s a great situation for me playing in both Germany and in the EuroCup.
baskets|blog: What is your biggest talent besides passing?
Jared Jordan: My best talent besides passing would be my ability to run a team. I take alot of pride in doing that because that’s the job of a point guard. I understand it’s my job to get people in the right places to be affective while also controlling the game.

baskets|blog: Was weißt du schon über Deutschland?
Jared Jordan: Um ehrlich zu sein, weiß ich noch nicht viel über Deutschland. Ein Freund meiner Familie reist öfters nach Deutschland und hat erzählt, dass es ein schönes Land mit netten Leuten ist, einfach ein toller Ort zum Leben. Er meinte, dass Bonn eine tolle Stadt sei – nicht zu groß, nicht zu klein – und, dass wir unsere Zeit hier genießen werden.
baskets|blog: Was ist das Coolste, das du bislang über Deutschland gehört hast?
Jared Jordan: Jedes Mal, wenn ich jemandem erzähle, dass ich nach Deutschland ziehe, höre ich als erstes “Oktoberfest” von ihnen. Also würde ich sagen, dass das Oktoberfest momentan so das Coolste an Deutschland ist, was ich kenne.
baskets|blog: Was erwartest du von deiner zweiten Saison in Europa?
Jared Jordan: Ich freue mich wirklich darüber wieder in Europa zu spielen und weiß auch, dass das eine gute Möglichkeit für mich ist. In Litauen zu spielen war eine wichtige Erfahrung für mich, da ich dort viel von den gestandenen Spielern lernen konnte. Das europäische Spiel unterscheidet sich schon sehr von dem, was ich gewohnt war. Aber jetzt, wo ich schon eine Saison hier gespielt habe, gehe ich deutlich selbstbewusster an die Sache ran.
baskets|blog: Was weißt du schon über dein neues Team und aktuelle/ehemalige Baskets-Spieler?
Jared Jordan: Ich habe gehört, dass der Coach ein “Players-Coach” ist und es versteht, seinen Spielern Selbstbewusstsein zu vermitteln. Ich weiß auch, dass Bonn die letzten zwei Saisons bis ins Finale gekommen ist und ich hoffe, dass ich dabei helfen kann die Meisterschaft zu holen. Von den Spielern kenne ich niemanden persönlich, habe aber schon ein paar von ihnen spielen sehen.
baskets|blog: Worauf freust du dich am meisten?
Jared Jordan: Ich freue mich sehr darauf endlich wieder auf dem Platz zu stehen und Spiele zu gewinnen. Ich möchte einfach nur immer gewinnen und dabei Spaß haben. Ich freue mich besonders deshalb so auf diese Saison, weil es eine großartige Situation für mich ist, sowohl in der deutschen Liga, als auch im EuroCup spielen zu können.
baskets|blog: Was ist dein größtes Talent abgesehen vom Passen?
Jared Jordan: Mein größtes Talent abgesehen vom Passen wäre wohl die Fähigkeit eine Mannschaft zu führen. Darauf bin ich wirklich stolz, denn das ist die eigentliche Aufgabe eines Aufbauspielers. Ich sorge dafür, dass meine Teamkameraden zur richtigen Zeit am richtigen Ort sind, damit sie effektiv spielen, und kontrolliere gleichzeitig das Spiel.
